I’m going to try out a new format for posting photos. I used to have a page showing an RSS feed of my recent running photos, but the plug in I used was both clunky and boring. I also didn’t like that there was no indication of the front page that I had updated the photo RSS. So while I updated the photos frequently, there was little other information with the photos to make them worth while to document.

So I’m going to try making some photo posts when I update my running pictures instead.

I generally run with my Blackberry and not with a “real” camera, so the quality of the images varies greatly. I’m hoping the next iteration of phones have higher quality cameras.

These photos are from June, 22 2009. I ran [if I can call it a run: I'm out of shape] back behind the National Zoo and then up along Connecticut Avenue from Woodley Park, back to Cleveland Park. I stopped to snap a couple of pictures:

This photo was taken from the west side of Conn Ave. I think I liked all of the signs on the building, but the sun was too bright to get a good snap shot of the all.

This is a picture looking down at the underbelly of the Conn Ave brigde which crosses Klingle Valley Park.

This is just another picture of some of the bridge’s features. I like to stop and look over the green railings; it must be the sense of vertigo that entertains me.

And here is a map with the photos’ locations marked, thanks to picasa. I had to take a screen capture and upload the image because apparently you can’t embed these maps. Hopefully they’ll add that feature soon, because not being able to have an interactive map embeded is unfortunate and janky.

Just l... on TwitPic" width="150" height="150" />
Just Like Fargo?

Okay, I could not resist. I might as well keep the weeks theme going. Fargo is currently the bane of my existence. I have no idea what has gotten into me this week. Fargo is just not that interesting and therefore I shouldn’t be able to write about it for days on end. But for some reason the stars must be aligned in a way to encourage references and stories about the biggest metropolis in that tiny state. Well this picture has come to my attention via a twitter search I have set up.

[Okay, so i have a twitter search for Fargo set up. So sue me. Its my home town so I'm generally interested in what is going on there.]

Either way, this picture come courtesy of Twitter user Twood. On the picture page, the caption reads: “Stagecoach turning south on calif ave. outside my off. Just like Fargo, ND.“ Click on the picture for a better look on the photo page.

Believe me, this is a great picture but I can think of many more reasons that this picture is not like Fargo. So what reasons are there that this picture couldn’t have been taken in Fargo? I’ll get you guys started:

No Snow.

There is a man in a suit taking a picture of the stagecoach.

That man . . . is using an iPhone.

What else?
