Almost done with finals; I just need to turn in one more take home exam for my Corporate Finance class.  After I turn it in I’ll be done with 5 of the 6 semesters of law school.  One left.  Since I’ve been listening to a lot of music this week this list is a double wide.  I’m not sure if that makes it better or worse, but I guess the same could be said about the White Album.

20 Random songs from my computer:

    2.  Barenaked Ladies – Stunt: “It’s All Been Done”

    9.  AC/DC – Back In Black: “Back In Black”
    10. The Smashing Pumpkins – Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness: “Thirty-Three”
    11. Desoto Jones – Deep Elm Sampler No. 8 “Bonfire of Trust”: “Giant Magnets”
    12. Boys Night Out – Boys Night Out: “Up with Me”

    17. The Beatles – 1: “Day Tripper”
    18. Modest Mouse – Lonesome Crowded West: “Styrofoam Boots/It’s All Nice on Ice, Alright”
    19. Jet – Get Born: “Come Around Again”

      Fantastic mix you've got there.

You put a lot of links to last.fm there. Are you a member?

      • yickit 3:07 pm on June 25, 2009 Permalink | Reply

I am a member. My page is here, although I tend to prefer Pandora because of the widows desktop gadget and the blackberry application.

Which ever makes the jump to the xbox360 first will probably be my go to.

      • yickit 3:20 pm on June 25, 2009 Permalink | Reply

I use links to last.fm because its easier to get the actual song linked, and I have a Firefox plug in that suggests links, including linking song titles to their last.fm page.

But I actually use Pandora much more.

Friday 10 Songs: Flying to Fargo Edition

Pink Floyd playing Dark Side of the Moon at Ea...

    Image via Wikipedia

[Note: I’m sure you’ve already seen these lists going around the interwebs, so obviously this isn’t an original idea. But I still like the idea of posting ten random songs from your chosen music library. The rules are simple: Play your entire library of songs on random, and record the first ten that come up. No matter what 10 songs appear, post them.]

Here is my ten for Friday, February 13th, 2009:

    1. A Static Lullaby: …And Don’t Forget to Breathe – “Nightmares Win 6-0″
    2. Guster: Keep It Together – “Come Downstairs And Say Hello”
    3. Modest Mouse: Good News for People Who Love Bad News – “Bukowski”
    4. Garth Brooks: Sevens – “Two Pina Coladas”
    5. Yellowcard: Lights and Sounds – “Rough Landing, Holly”
    6. Unwritten Law: Here’s to the Mourning – “Because of You”
    7. Hanson: Middle of Nowhere – “Lucy”
    8. blink-182: Greatest Hits – “All the Small Things
    9. Pink Floyd: The Dark Side of the Moon – “Brain Damage”
    10. Something Corporate: North – “Ruthless”

Crap I jinxed myself. Here’s what I said last week:

To be honest, I’m pretty happy with this list: MMMM Bop isn’t on there.

Damn Hanson. I knew that after mentioning MMMM Bop that one of their songs might pop up this week. I’m not even going to go into why I have that album on my computer besides to say that playing Hanson over and over again is a sure fire way to piss of your neighbors/roommates. Other than the Hanson travesty, I like the variance of this week’s list. I still remember the first time I heard Something Corporate. It happened to be live at a Summer festival and I was impressed how good they were live.

I’m surprised I haven’t more country and old music on these lists yet, but if I had to pick someone representative of that group, Garth Brooks would be my choice. If you didn’t see him perform during the HBO’s Pre-Inauguration Concert, you missed out.

What’s on your list for today?

Oh man, I hate "All the Small Things". Least favorite Blink song ever (although I did like some of their others).

Sorry, don't mean to bash your list, that was just my first reaction. Plus, the list is redeemed immediately by the Pink Floyd coming right after.
