    Random 10: November Rain

I’ll be at a hearing at a DC court almost all day, but here is my random songs for Friday, November “The 13th” 2009:

    1. Bowling for Soup – A Hangover You Don’t Deserve: “A-Hole”

    2. The Killers – Sawdust: “Sweet Talk”

    3. Jeff Tweedy – Sunken Treasure: “Family Gardener”

    9. The Hold steady – Live @ West End Cultural Centre Winnipeg: “Cheyenne Sunrise”

    10. Oasis – Don’t Believe the Truth: “Turn Up the Sun”

This list just kept going.  Besides the Aerosmith and Oasis, these are all songs that I regularly listen to in my collection.  Thanks to Andrew [go Bulldogs!] who directed me to the Jeff Tweedy/Wilco EPs that are available online.

Do you like The Hold Steady or Liffter Puller?  Then you need to go to their Live Taped Shows archive, which is where their live cuts on this list originated.
Finally, I’m going to end with two Pumpkins songs: “Today” and “Tonight, Tonight.”  The “Tonight, Tonight” single cassette tape might be the first actual commercially produced cassette tape I ever owned:

    Today [Listen on posterous]

    Tonight, Tonight [Listen on posterous]

I love the "Sunken Treasure Live" EP. My favorite is on "Shot in the Arm" where he can't quite get started and he's like "I've only ever played this song like seven f**king million times." How are you finding Wilco/Jeff Tweedy?

I'm definitly digging them so far. I'm going to have to get some
        deeper cuts soon.

And I'm open to your suggestions for the next album. Whats your personal favorite?

        • Andrew 7:52 pm on April 24, 2009 Permalink | Reply

Oh man, I dunno if I could pick a favorite. "Being There" and ""Summer teeth" are both excellent. I think I'd start there. i'd have to say "A.M." is last, but that's not by much. I'm sure other Citizens could also put in their 2 cents.
