It seems like this is the only type of post I ever have time to do anymore.  But because of time commitments it will have to do for now.  I like the Killers and “When You Were Young” is my second favorite Guitar Hero song to play after Rise Against’s “Prayer of the Refugee”.  I wish “Girl’s Not Grey” was on the Guitar Hero games that I own.  I’m going to have to look into what AFI songs are available besides “Miss Murder”.

Throwing Copper is a terrific album, and the The Vines were not the second coming of the Beatles but were also not the second coming of The Sundown Playboys either.  Two country songs made the cut this week too.  The first concert I ever went to was Alabama at the Red River Valley Fair in Fargo, ND.  It was awesome even before the laser light show after their set.

What’s on your list for today?

    Friday 10 – Its Been a While

The Smashing Pumpkins in a 1990 promotional ph...
    Image via Wikipedia

[Note: I’m sure you’ve already seen these lists going around the interwebs, so obviously this isn’t an original idea.  But I still like the idea of posting ten random songs from your chosen music library.  The rules are simple: Play your entire library of songs on random, and record the first ten that come up.  No matter what 10 songs appear, post them.]

It has already been two Fridays since my last Friday 10.  Man time flies . . . time to get back into the swing of things.

Here is my ten for Friday, March 13th 2009, hopefully Hanson won’t rear their ugly mugs again:

    1. Yellowcard – Lights and Sounds: “Martin Sheen or JFK”
    2. The Smashing Pumpkins – Greatest Hits Disc 1: “1979”
    3. Kenny ChesneyBe as You Are: “Sherry’s Living in Paradise”
    4. Oasis – (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?: “Champagne Supernova”
    5. Tony Tribe – Bob Marley and the Story of Reggae Disc 1: “Red, Red Wine”
    6. The Daktaries – This is Daptone Records…: “Eltsuhg Ibal Lasiti”
    7. The Killers – Sawdust: “Glamorous Indie Rock and Roll”
    8. AFI – Sing the Sorrow: “The Leaving Song, Pt. 2”
    9. Bloc Party – Intimacy: “Mercury”
    10. Eve 6 – Its All in Your Head: “Hey Montana”

Pretty varied list.  Eve 6 is one of my favorite bands, but “Hey Montana” is the song I skip every time I listen to that album.  I also cannot stand “Champagne Supernova” but that’s only because some people I dislike argue that it is the greatest song ever written.  And they’re not kidding.  Reggae?!  I’m surprised every week.
