Gravatar

Just some quick site updates news.

I recently added Gravatar support in the commenting system. For those of you who don’t know, a Gravatar is a Globally Recognized Avatar. Essentially, a Gravatar is a picture that you link to your email address, and when you post on sites which support Gravatars your picture will automatically show up. Although in order for the picture to show up, you have to use the same email you have linked to Gravatar.com in the comment information section. For example:

1. Sign up for a Gravatar. It is a free service. You can either upload an image or enter a URL of an online image. Image size doesn’t matter because once you upload the image Gravatar.com runs a cropping and resizing program to properly format your Gravatar image. (This makes the whole process very quick and easy.)
2. When you register at Yickit.com to post, pick a username and enter your Gravatar linked email address in your new profile.
3. Then when you post a comment on Yickit.com, your Gravatar will be shown along with your comment.

Gravatars are especially intriguing if you post on several blogs. They enable you to maintain a consistent web identity and allow people to recognize you. So I hope you enjoy Gravatar on Yickit.com. As always comments on improvements are always welcome.
