- Time to get married. #
In just over twenty four hours, I will no longer be single. Will the music be different on the other side? We’ll have to wait until next week to find out. Until then, here is my last random ten songs as a single person:
If you haven’t heard She Swings, She Sways, I encourage you to check them out. I think they’re an Authentic Records band but don’t count on that being correct. If I remember to edit this post I’ll try to include a video of She Swings.
I felt a bit like a Strib1 commenter when I typed the Hellogoobye album titile. Good thing the capital letters were under control. Seems like Hellogoodbye’s work is getting a bit stale; they must have a new album on the horizon.
Something Corporate is awesome live. I was walking around Warped Tour between a Finch and New Found Glory’s sets, and just happened to come across Something Corporate’s concert. I think I may have been on my way to see either The Alkaline Trio or someone like that, but my SC stop was well worth missing bands I already knew. I need to find out if they make it all the way out here to the east coast.
Except for the Eminem this list is pretty representative of the music that I normally listen too. Perhaps one country song, and one harder rock song would have really made the sample more inclusive, but I really like this list. Well that is what is on my list for today, May 29th 2009.
Jessica Simpson just started playing. I didn’t know I even had any of her music. Good thing this one came in at number 11 rather than number 10.
What’s on your list for today?
“The Love Affair [Final Version]” – Roger Eno, “Music of Neglected English Composers“
“This Time the Dream’s on Me” – Harold Arlen, “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil soundtrack“
“Quebec” – Geoff Downes, “World Service“
“A Cry for Everyone” – Gentle Giant, “Octopus“
“Lost and Found” – Roger Eno, “The Night Garden“
“Go Forward” – Lisa Gerrard, “Whale Rider soundtrack“
“Tales of a Damson Knight” – National Health, “Complete“
“Leonard and Natalie” – David Julyan, “Memento soundtrack“
“Livin’ for You” – Boston, “Greatest Hits“
“Go” – Asia, “Astra“
No bonus this week; Roger Eno got enough airplay this time around.
congrats on the nuptuals, yickit. I hope you had participation in game logs written in explicitly to the pre-nup!

I’ve been in Fargo all week. This trip to Fargo may be my longest stay in 4 years, and may well shape up to be the longest I’ll be here for quite some time. I better get my fill of Juano’s, Mexican Village, and Santa Lucia while I’m here. I can’t believe people go to FIVE Applebee’s in town instead of all the great independent restaurants in the area. Here’s my random ten songs for today:
I find it funny that No Use for a Name has a five word name. They should have gone with ___ instead.
Bloc Party’s “Hunting for Witches” is probably the reason I don’t regret picking up A Weekend in the City. I wish more of the songs on this album would have lived up to my expectations, even if those expectations may have been a bit high. I know I said the hierarchy of Bloc Party albums goes something like: Silent Alarm > Intimacy > A Weekend in the City, but after listening to AWitC again, I may move it to the middle, or at least equal to Intimacy. Sadly, neither album approaches Silent Alarm’s stratosphere.
“Take me to the place to where the white boys dance. Take me to the place where they run and play.” Anybody have any idea where the Killers are looking for? My money is on Reggie Bush for King of New Orleans. Orleans doesn’t have a king, but they may have a Duke or maybe an Earl.
I’m not sure I’ve listened to any other album1 more than Through Being Cool. I still listen to it frequently all the way through.
Nobody rhymes “boy” with “boi” like Avril. Ugh. Hopefully Hawthorne Heights will erase any memories of Avril popping up on this list. Well that’s what came up on my random list for Friday May 22, 2009.
What came up on your list today?

“Warriors [remixed excerpts]” – Synergy, “The Jupiter Menace“
“Going for the One [instrumental bonus track]” – Yes, “Going for the One“
